Training Future Therapists at A Seed of Hope Family Counseling Center
A Seed of Hope Family Counseling Center is proud to serve as a clinical training site for graduate students in social work and counseling programs. Our practice partners with universities such as Western Michigan University and Spring Arbor University to provide hands-on learning experiences for Master of Social Work (MSW) students completing their clinical internships.
Our interns work under the close supervision of a fully licensed clinician and receive guidance in evidence-based therapeutic practices, ethical standards, and client-centered care. This experience helps prepare them to become skilled, compassionate, and competent mental health professionals. Clients who choose to work with an intern counselor receive empathetic, client-centered support at a reduced rate.
What This Means for Clients
When you work with an intern therapist, you can expect the same level of professionalism, confidentiality, and quality of care as with our licensed clinicians. Intern sessions are supervised and reviewed to ensure clients receive effective and ethical treatment. Many clients appreciate the unique perspectives, dedication, and up-to-date training that interns bring to therapy.
Our use of interns also reflects our commitment to the growth of the mental health field — helping train the next generation of social workers and therapists who will continue to make a positive difference in their communities.
