Life Choices for Teen Girls

Wednesdays | 6:00 – 7:15 PM
Status: Enrollment open
Start Date: October 29, 2025
To participate, a clinician must first complete an assessment of your child’s overall mental health before the class begins. ASOH will then establish a mental health baseline during the second individual session and create a treatment plan that includes the class.

Empowering Teen Girls to Make Confident, Healthy Choices

Today’s teens face a far more complex and fast-paced world than previous generations, with constant challenges and important decisions that shape their futures. This workshop empowers pre-teens and teen girls with the skills and confidence to make thoughtful, healthy choices as they grow.

In this class, participants will:

  • Recognize the factors that influence their decision-making and how they manage their time.
  • Make wise, intentional choices about friendships, relationships, and social circles.
  • Build openness and respect toward people with different perspectives and backgrounds.
  • Reflect on past choices, learn from mistakes, and create stronger strategies for the future.
  • Understand both the benefits and risks of their actions — and how to choose healthier risks.

Activities include:

  • Weekly self-assessments tailored to each topic.
  • Homework-based format — each week’s assignment will be completed at home and discussed the following session.
  • Private review of self-assessment results with a clinician, followed by a separate discussion with the parent/guardian if desired (not required).

Why Self-Assessments?

Self-assessments encourage self-awareness, emotional growth, and better decision-making by helping participants:

  • Understand what drives their behavior and release habits or patterns that no longer serve them.
  • Recognize how early life experiences shape their choices.
  • Gain valuable insight and motivation for positive change.
  • Focus on achievable behavioral goals while identifying strengths, challenges, and coping resources.
  • Explore personal qualities without judgment.
